16+ Travel card INFORMATION
The 16+ Travel Card allows students over the age of 16 who are in education or training, unlimited bus travel in Kent at any time, including evenings, weekends and holidays. To be eligible, students must:-
- Live in Kent,
- Attend a participating school, college or work-based training provider,
- Have a genuine need to travel to undertake their education.

To apply for a 2017-18 16+ Travel Card you need to follow these steps:
- Step 1
Apply for the card directly to Kent County Council by clicking here
Alternatively you can print an application form here This should then be posted directly to Kent County Council.
You will also need an up to date passport sized photograph of your child.
The deadline for applications in order to receive your child's card ready for September is
Friday 14th July 2016.
- Step 2
When you have applied to KCC for the Travel Card, the payment for your card should be made directly to the school via Parent Pay. The fee for the card is £400. You can pay this in full or by monthly standing order. If you choose to pay by standing order, you will need to make an initial payment of £120 via Parent Pay and then instruct your bank to make a monthly standing order payment of £40 per month.

Please return it to your bank (not to school) in order to set up your payment.
In order for us to process your payments in time, the deadline for payments is also
Friday 14th July 2017.
(Please be aware that we will not be able to issue any passes that we have not received payment for.)
If you have questions about 16+ Travel Cards, please do not hesitate to call Mrs Day, Sixth Form Support Officer who will be happy to help.
We would not want any child to be prevented from attending St. Anselm's Sixth form as a result of the cost of transport. Financial assistance is available if your total household income is below £20,818.
To apply for Bursary Assistance, please complete an application form and submit it to Mrs Day,
Sixth Form Support Officer. You will need to enclose a copy of your Tax Credit Award dated within the past 9 months. This must be a full award and not partial.

All bursary applications will be treated in confidence.
When we have received your application, you will be contacted by Mrs Day to let you know the amount for the bus pass that you will need to pay.
The deadline for Bursary Applications is Monday 3rd July 2017.
Please note - Application does not guarantee entry to our Sixth Form as entrance is based on students achieving a minimum of 3-5 A* - C grades at GCSE level PLUS any specific requirements for the subjects they have chosen.
