At the age of five, he was sent to receive his training from the Benedictine monks. He was the greatest scholar the Church has ever known. He was best known for his work ‘Summa Theologica’ – the combined wisdom of the very ancient world with the new message of Christianity. He was loved for his kindness and willingness to share his knowledge. He said prayer taught him more about the world than study.
Prayer: Saint Thomas Aquinas, you used the power of the human mind to understand the glory of heaven. Help me grow in my understanding of God’s plan for the world. Amen.
