Performing Arts BTEC Tech Award is perfect for students that want to explore all the performing arts industry has to offer. This is a practical, coursework related course. You will explore Musical Theatre and Dance both practically and theoretically. The practical elements involve performances in your strongest discipline and can be tailored to each individual student.
The course is made up of three components: two that are internally assessed and one that’s externally assessed. The three-block structure, explore, develop and apply, has been developed to allow students to build on and embed their knowledge. This allows them to grow in confidence and then put into practice what they have learned.
What can this course prepare you for?
This course will prepare you for any employment in the Performing Arts industry, whether it is behind the scenes in stage management, front of house in the box office or on the stage.
BTEC Performing Arts Homework policy
BTEC Performing Arts students will be assigned homework through the Student Dashboard App on Office365. Students will be advised on how to use this during their Performing Arts lessons and must use this to submit homework.
Enrichment Opportunities
As part of the course it is important for the students to gain as much exposure as possible to experience all areas that the industry has to offer. Locally we arrange visits and performances at provisions such as The Marlowe theatre and Gulbenkian theatre to allow students to be a part of real life performances either on the management side or performance side. Your child will also get the opportunity to travel further afield to London and the West End.
